Welcome to the Team: Daniel Akerstream Joins Electra Sign Ltd. as Operations Manager

At Electra Sign Ltd., we pride ourselves not only on the quality of the signs we produce but also on the exceptional people behind them. Today, we’re thrilled to welcome Daniel Akerstream to the team as our new Operations Manager.

Daniel brings a fresh perspective to Electra Sign, along with a strong leadership style grounded in teamwork, efficiency, and a drive for excellence. A lifelong Winnipegger raised in River Heights, Daniel is no stranger to hard work and dedication—values that align perfectly with our mission to deliver quality signage with unmatched service and craftsmanship.

Although new to the sign industry, Daniel is diving in with enthusiasm, eager to build his knowledge and make a lasting impact. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for overseeing the smooth flow of operations—from sales and design to production and installation. His focus is on streamlining processes and ensuring that every project is completed on time and to the high standards Electra is known for.

“The key is to keep product moving and get these signs out the door as quickly as possible while still maintaining Electra Sign’s superior craftsmanship and quality,” says Dan. “I’m excited to be part of a team that’s passionate about what they do and ready to take things to the next level.”

Daniel’s diverse background extends well beyond operations. A former WHL (Western Hockey League) draftee with the Tri-City Americans, he knows the importance of discipline, resilience, and working toward a common goal. He’s also a hands-on builder with a deep passion for carpentry, home renovations, and design—making him a great fit in an environment where creativity meets functionality.

When he’s not in the office or on the production floor, you’ll likely find Daniel lifting weights, playing hockey or tennis, building LEGO with his kids, or working on renovation projects at his family cottage in Victoria Beach. He also enjoys 3D animation and drawing, showcasing a natural curiosity for how things work and how they’re made—an interest that fits right in with our production-driven world.

Daniel describes himself as funny, outgoing, and easygoing—someone who gets along with everyone and brings a positive energy to the workplace. That energy is already being felt around the Electra shop floor, and we’re excited to see the contributions he’ll make as he settles into his new role.
