At The BOLT Apartments, located at 2735 Pembina Highway in Winnipeg, the building's illuminated signage gives its name a clear identity against the dark brick exterior. Electra Sign Ltd. fabricated and installed the custom LED-lit channel letters, bringing the property's branding to life at the entrance.

A Sign That Fits the Building

The BOLT offers 181 contemporary rental units in a convenient south Winnipeg location, just 3 km from the University of Manitoba. With a range of suite layouts and amenities, the building is designed for students, young professionals and families looking for a comfortable place to call home.

The signage needed to be easy to recognize while fitting naturally into the building's modern architecture. The blue lightning bolt provides a distinctive graphic element, while the white lettering keeps the name clear and legible.

Face Lighting Meets Halo Illumination

The channel letters combine two lighting effects. White acrylic faces illuminate from the front, keeping the lettering bright and readable. White LEDs behind the clear backs also cast light onto the wall, creating a halo around each letter.

Black trim and returns give the lettering a defined edge, while mounting the letters 1.5 inches off the wall allows the halo effect to develop against the brick. Together, these details give the sign depth and a strong nighttime presence without making the design unnecessarily complicated.

The result is signage that works with the building's exterior during the day and becomes a prominent visual feature after dark.
